Isola 2000 - now open!

The resort opened last Saturday, currently 9 lifts and 15 runs are open with 52 - 71cm snow.

Isola 2000 ski season commences - Saturday 5th December

Tomorrow (Saturday 5th December) Isola 2000 will welcome skiers for the start of the 2009-2010 ski season! To check which lifts and pistes will be open visit www.isola2000.com/hiver/fr/detail-actus-accueil.aspx?Id=23 and click on 'Bulletin neige' in the left hand column.

According to the Isola 2000 website there is a minimum of 45cm snow and a maximum of 75cm!

First snow of the 2009-2010 ski season at Isola 2000

The first snow of the season at Isola 2000 fell overnight. Take a look at the webcams.

First snow ??

Just checked the Sant'Anna di Vinadio webcams and there is a light dusting of snow visible on the mountain peaks nearby. Have also heard that the Col de la Bonnette has received 20cm of snow!

Well the summer season has come to a close and we now look forward to the 2009-2010 ski season. We're making some changes to www.chaletisola.com and hope to launch the new site soon. We hope you'll like it and that some of the new features will be interesting and useful to visitors of the site - especially online payment.

Summer!

There's lots going on at Isola 2000 this summer. There are plenty of fantastic walks to explore the area, but watch out for the fairly numerous patches of snow that are to be found near the mountain tops. Will post some photos soon.

There is also lots of work going on to improve the ski area for next season - a couple of the chairlifts in the St Sauveur valley are being moved around / replaced.

We have plenty of availability for the Winter season 2009 -2010, so do take a look at www.chaletisola.com

Summer Season

The summer season at Isola 2000 kicks off next weekend (27th June2009). The slopes look lovely and green on the Front de Neige whilst there are still considerable patches of snow higher up the mountain.

There is a wide variety of activities to do during the summer months, including swimming in the outdoor pool, cycling, walking, horse riding, archery, tennis and lots more.

We have availability for both July and August, so if you are interested in renting our wonderful chalet do get in touch.

(Please note we are also taking bookings for the 2009/2010 winter ski season so book soon to avoid disappointment!)

End of the season

Skiing over for another season. The 2008/2009 ski season ended on 26th April 2009 and what a season it was! There is still loads of snow left so its a bit of a shame that the lifts aren't in operation. Now we can look forward to the summer season - the chalet is available throughout the summer do get in touch if you are interested. It looks like there will be major improvement works to the lift system ready in time for the 2009/2010 ski season with a new 6 person chairlift being installed in the St Sauveur domain. Will keep you posted of any other exciting news.

Snow Report

Just back from Isola 2000. The amount of snow is incredible and more is forecast for the end of the week.

Isola misses out on 2018 Winter Games

It was announced on Wednesday that Nice (including Isola 2000 and Auron) will not be France's candidate for the 2018 Winter Olympics, instead Annecy has been selected.

March Availability

As we move into March conditions remain excellent at Isola 2000. If you fancy a last-minute break, the chalet is available from 7th-13th March or 21st-28th March 2009.

It really is quite amazing how much snow there is.

There was major snowfall over the Christmas period at Isola 2000, with the resort cut-off for a number of days in the week before Christmas.

The snow levels are incredible, on the journey up you drive past multiple avalanches and where the snow was bulldozed off the road there are walls of snow about 3m high. At the chalets the snow around the paths is greater than head height. We'll add some photos very soon.

Due to the exceptional snowfall the resort has extended the season with the closing date now 26 April 2009. The chalet is still available for the majority of March and April so do get in touch via www.chaletisola.com if you are interested in renting.
